Rekt Drinks x CryptoBags: A Phygital Scavenger Hunt Fueling Brand & Community Engagement
NYC was a scavenger hunt for the record books! 🙌
The community absolutely smashed the 3 day RektBag hunt which spanned Hudson Yards, Upper East Side, Mid Town, Times Square, The Empire State Building, Little Italy, Soho, Brooklyn, Downtown and of course Wall St. Every bag was snatched up, proving the power of phygital experiences for brand engagement.
But the real mic drop moment?
That 1/1 Gold Edition RektBag, hidden in the perfect spot – legendary dive bar, The Full Shilling down on Wall St.
It held the ultimate secret treasure: OSF's coveted "The Dive Bar" NFT, a piece currently valued at a jaw-dropping 20 ETH (~70k USD)! 🤯

It started with Dunkin' Donuts...

Artist and RektGuy & Rekt Drinks founder, OSF signs each piece to make these RektBag collectibles extra special.
We set off for the iconic street art alley "Freemans Alley" in the Bowery.
RektBag 10/10 is going down.
OSF places the first RektBag, Edition 10 on the wall himself.
Find a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life...
Next up, RektBag 9/10 is dropped at The Vessel in the pissing rain and still got snapped up in 25 mins.
Okay, these guys are good.
The rain gets worse, its now torrential, but the show must go on.
RektBag 8/10 goes down under the High Line.
Degens cycle and claim it in 30 mins. WTF.

DAY 2
Note to self: "Today you make them sweat!"
Start the day as you mean to go on.

RektBag 7/10 goes down first at The Met.
This one kicks the day off well and has participants scrambling to get there first.
Moving on to the Empire State Building.
RektBag 6/10 gets dropped on [another] filthy lamp post next to a pizza joint with views of the iconic, art deco office tower.

This one did prove to be one of the more challenging drops.

THE BIG DAY.

RektBag 3/10 starts the day at iconic music club where legends Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan, Lady Gaga, Jackson Browne, Neil Diamond, Gavin DeGraw, Woody Allen, Jon Stewart, Randy Newman, Billy Crystal, Tommy James, Norah Jones, Donnie Hathaway, Curtis Mayfield, and thousands more have performed.
Onto Brooklyn to visit the iconic NFT wall by street artist Masnah.
If you look close enough you might notice a little treat that I left there myself, but not a RektBag as that would have been too obvious...
This CryptoBag and its $50 of ETH inside has now been claimed FYI ;)
RektBag 2/10 gets dropped somewhere in Brooklyn and this non descriptive photo and clue leaves players hungry.
3 days later, claimed 🤟

CryptoBags was started by Blokculture as a crypto street art project with limited edition interactive art installations hidden in cities and event spaces around the world containing real Bitcoin or Ethereum.
Coined "Phygital Airdrops" the IRL scavenger hunt for these artworks aim to combine the thrill of Pokemon Go with the community spirit of traditional airdrops, but instead of participants receiving digital only tokens, the experience and excitement is brought to life with unique, collectible art pieces up for grabs.
With that, CryptoBags quickly became a playful adventure that empowers users to discover brands and artists, boosting engagement and brand loyalty.
OSF & Blokculture met at NFT Paris and they hatched a plan to launch a Rekt Drinks Phygital treasure hunt at NFT NYC.
This physical and digital collection was made up of 10 Editions and an exclusive 1-of-1 Gold Edition.
Each of the 11 participants who found a piece, kept the physical artwork and claimed a Rekt Drinks X CryptoBags NFT; an ownership token corresponding directly to their physical piece.
We wanted to raise the stakes for the grand finale Gold Edition 1/1 RektBag and OSF suggested including a surprise masterpiece of his that he had not minted yet.
So to make things truly exciting, OSF minted his 1/1 piece from 2023 titled "The Dive Bar" and we airdropped it to the final winner.
OSF's work is highly sought after and often sells for tens of thousands of dollars, so the stakes in this game were high!
In OSF's own words: "The Dive Bar is probably my favourite piece from last year. It will be a 1/1 and I'm gonna give this away for free”.
It made a lot of sense for the drop zone for this epic piece to be in one the many famed rekt bars on Wall St where bankers & traders would frequent after a hard day of tradfi degening.
RektBag 1/1 Gold Edition and a work of art valued at $70K now sits at the feet of the local punters peacefully getting rekt at The Full Shilling Irish Pub.
